We Built This operates with the conviction that diversification is essential for the future of the skilled trades. With that in mind, we are focusing our efforts this year on expanding access to trades education. One of our limitations to date includes how we advertise (social media, website, and email subscriptions). People without consistent access to computers and the internet are excluded from notification of our programming. Additionally, we only offer our educational content in English, so language barriers exclude many participants. Our registration is available on a sliding scale, but additional scholarships are incredibly helpful for access. Our participant surveys report significant age diversity and gender diversity, but our racial and ethnic diversity is quite limited.
